Geoffrey Jones has an MA and PhD from Cambridge University in the United Kingdom. A dual US and UK citizen, he has taught at Harvard Business School since 2002 where he is Isidor Straus Professor of Business History. He researches the history of global business and the social and ecological responsibility of business. His recent books include Profits and Sustainability. A History of Green Entrepreneurship (Oxford University Press, 2017) and Deeply Responsible Business. A Global History of Values-Driven Leadership (Harvard University Press, 2023). His next book, Underdog Capitalism. A History of Local Business and Reslience in the Global South will be published in 2027. Professor Jones is a Fellow of the Academy of International Business and an International Fellow of the British Academy.
